The new Philips DVDR7200 is a DVD recorder that features an inbuilt Freeview digital terrestrial receiver and decoder.
![]() The Philips Freeview enabled DVDR7200 Digital Terrestrial Television, or DTT/DTTV for short, is a digital television broadcast that's transmitted entirely over ground circuits, i.e. no satellite is used. The cables, etc. used are pretty much the same as standard analog TV, but the signal is digital, resulting in superior quality video and audio when compared to anlog signals. This is available mostly in the USA and the UK. Freeview is a free-to-view DTTV service available in the UK. The Philips DVDR7200 let's you record upto seven days of TV broadcasts with its GuidePlus Interactive Programming Guide. It supports dual-layer DVD+R and DVD+RW recording and also records 5.1 channel digital audio. In addition to all this it features Hi-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), the industry-supported, uncompressed, completely digital audio and video interface, for excellent hi-def quality audio and video recording thaat can be used with compatible TVs and other displays.
